My Definition Of Education

I think that education is so much more than what is taught in a classroom. I believe that education is learning new things about different topics (such as math and science), learning more about the world around us, and learning more about ourselves as complex human beings. Learning different theories and languages are part of a well-rounded education, but learning small and simple things about yourself and others also makes you so much more educated.

  1. I like how you said that education is learning about ourselves as complex human beings. I have never thought about that, but we learn things from ourselves all the time and that is important to look at.

    1. I agree with you; one of the most important ways that a person is able to learn is through his or her own unique experiences, and that should definitely be part of the definition for education.

  2. People always link education with what is happening in the classroom. Learning is really a lifelong task. It doesn't mean after you graduated from college or university , you STOP Learning. Education is not just about academic knowledge, it happens from ourselves to the whole society and world. It helps us to become a more well-rounded person in terms of personalities, personal views, knowledges and attitude...etc. I hope people can open up to a broader version of definition.

    1. I really like how you said that learning is a lifelong task and I absolutely agree. Learning and education are not confined to the classrooms and school buildings because people are constantly learning new things everywhere they go, and they will continue to do so after their schooling is finished.

  3. I could not agree with you more. We are all finding things out about us through education. What subjects we like, etc. But not only academically, it helps us become more well-rounded people and sets us up for the rest of our lives.

    1. Yes, even realizing our own preferences and aspirations can make us more educated about ourselves. It is important that we recognize these things, as you have, in our definitions for education
